Downtown Farmers Market 20th Anniversary, Squatters Pub Brewery, Salt Lake City, June 5, 2012

DOWNTOWN FARMERS MARKET 20TH ANNIVERSARY

Squatters hosts a kickoff celebration, complete with limited edition beer.

Salt Lake City (May 18, 2012) – The Downtown Farmers Market will celebrate 20 years of providing opportunities for the community to support local. The Market—with more than 250 vendors—offers a unique variety of farmers, producers, bakeries, prepared food and beverages, packaged foods and local artisans.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary Squatters will host a fundraising event to sample all of the things that make the Market great: local food, live music, art, food producers, supporters, plus the release of a special farm-to-bottle brew. The June 5th partygoers will be treated to music by Red Rock Hot Club.

Tickets are limited, as are the 1,000 bottles of Bumper Crop a farm-to-bottle ale. ”We are excited to pop this rather racey commemorative beer brewed with local honey and lavendar, and raise our glasses to celebrate the 20th anniversary season of the staggerlingly successful Salt Lake Farmers Market and its continued growth in our downtown” exclaimed Peter Cole, Founding Partner Squatters Pubs and Beers. Bumper Crop is a light golden ale brewed by Squatters award-winning Brewmaster Jason Stock, using local Farmers Market ingredients by Prickly Rock Honey and Lavender Hill Farm. Jason adds East Kent Golding hops to compliment the delicate honey and lavender flavors.

Squatters will be donating $1 of every bottle of Bumper Crop sold back to the Farmers Market; Bumper Crop will be availble for purchase June 5th for $5.99 per 25 oz. bottle at Squatters Pub downtown and at the Beer Store located at 1763 South 300 West.
