Utah Festival Opera has developed and coordinated a new education program for adult learners; Utah Festival Academy! The UFA will feature Dr. Craig Jessop, Dean of the new Caine College of the Arts at Utah State University July 28th.
This event is open to music educators at any level, all choral conductors or those who have an interest in choral conducting.
The choral conducting workshop will take place in the Little Theater on the Logan High School campus from 9:30-11:00 am.
The Little Theater (in the English Building) is located on the west side of the campus. Parking in the west parking lot is closest to the venue.
Seating is limited so it would be good to obtain tickets in advance, although tickets will be available at the door. The cost is $10 per person.
Dr. Jessop is a master teacher with a vast background in choral conducting. Before coming to Utah State University, Dr. Jessop was the conductor of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir in Salt Lake City.
His presentation will be educational and entertaining. Attendees will come away with choral conducting techniques that can be applied immediately. This is a unique opportunity to learn from one of the great conductors of national and international renown.
Further information can be obtained by contacting the Utah Festival Opera Company 750-0300 x 126.
