Christmas in July @ Hogle Zoo (SLC: July 10)

UTAH'S HOGLE ZOO TO CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS IN JULY
____________________________________________________________________________

SALT LAKE CITY (July 2) - While the holiday season is still months away, Utah's Hogle Zoo wants its guests to catch the "Yule Tide Spirit" early as it celebrates Christmas in July on Saturday, July 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The big man in red is trading his heavy Santa suit in favor of more appropriate summer attire as he sets up shop in the Oasis Plaza. Children are invited to stop by, have their photo taken with him and drop off their Christmas list a bit early.

The day also means a lot of fun for Hogle Zoo's animal population as they will become the recipients of some fun new toys - ice blocks! As part of their daily activities animals at the zoo regularly take part in enrichment exercises, which involves giving them various activities to encourage natural behavior and ensure interest or reaction to various stimuli.

Humans will be able to join in the "ice" fun as well with Today's KOSY and the Zoo hosting an "Ice Dive," in which pre-selected competitors will have a chance to search through thousands of ice cubes to find those that correspond with prizes.

Guests will also be able to craft their wish list for Santa on-site at booths providing coloring supplies and holiday coloring book sheets in Oasis Plaza.
