Utah Symphony Presents Concert to Benefit Road Home

THE UTAH SYMPHONY PRESENTS CONCERT TO BENEFIT THE ROAD HOME

WHAT: For the third year in a row, the Utah Symphony will proudly partner with The Road Home for a free concert on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 to raise donations and create awareness about homelessness. Employees from The Road Home will be at Abravanel Hall giving out information and accepting donations. A pre-concert mini-festival will take place on the plaza of Abravanel Hall beginning at 5:30 pm and will include vendors selling food and drinks with proceeds going directly to The Road Home. Food prices are just $10 for meal, drink and ice-cream, $1 for beverages only and $1 for ice-cream only.

The concert will feature Thurl Bailey singing the National Anthem and the Jazz Bear conducting the William Tell Overture.

WHERE: Abravanel Hall

WHY: The Road Home is a private non-profit 501(c)(3) organization providing assistance to people who are homeless in Salt Lake County and along the Wasatch Front. Their mission is to help people step out of homelessness and back into the community. The Road Home serves 31 families, 300 single men and 74 single women daily at the main facility. The facility is in operation 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. During the 2006-07 fiscal year, The Road Home provided a total of 222,581 nights of shelter to 3,862 unduplicated individuals through all of their shelter programs
