Jeanette started teaching guitar when she was 16. Jack was
her first student, two years later they were married. They both gave guitar
lessons and were owners of a music store and several guitar studios in Northern
Utah for many years. Jack entertained on the Nevada circuit and performed many
years in pizza parlors where he loved to have the audience join in and sing
along with him. He went on tour with Clayton Moore (The Lone Ranger) throughout
NV and CA. They performed with Hank
Thompson several times when he appeared in Utah.
Jack will amaze you with his energetic talent on the Banjo,
Guitar, Mandolin and Fiddle. He has won
many contests on the Banjo including 1st place at both UT and CA. He
also won 2nd place on the Fiddle at the Utah state contest. That is
impressive because he taught himself and has only been playing a short time.
Jeanette is an accomplished award winning musician on the
Dobro, steel guitar and standard guitar. She has also won first place in state
competition on the Dobro.
Together they perform all types of music especially the Old
Standards, Dixieland, Ragtime, Bluegrass and Country all sprinkled with humor.
Their enthusiasm is contagious and in no time they will have the audience
participating and singing along with them. They have performed for many State
and County Fairs, Concerts in the Park and more. They enjoy spending their
winters performing in the Western States and Texas. They have just returned
from Weizer, Idaho where they were featured performers at the opening and
closing of shows each night for the National Fiddle Contest.
Sponsored by the Utah Division of Arts & Museums, the
National Endowment for the Arts, and the City of St. George, Concert in the
Park 2012 Series is free to the public.
Don’t miss the second Monday of each month through September. Park
seating is available, bring blankets, lawn chairs, food and the family. For
more information call 627-4525.
