Downtown Farmers Market Music schedule
Full lineup of local acts playing in Pioneer Park Saturday mornings released.
Salt Lake City (July 9, 2012) - The Downtown
Farmers Market has announced its full lineup of musicians that will hit
the stage each Saturday from 11am to 1pm on the south lawn of Pioneer
Park. "Music at the Market," presented with support
from City Weekly and
the Salt Lake Arts Council
was developed to support local musicians and add to the festive
atmosphere market-goers experience while shopping for fresh produce,
prepared foods, as well
as arts and crafts.
Featured performers include Holy Water Buffalo, The
Suicycles, The Hot Club of Zion, Matteo, The Folka Dots, The Mighty
Sequoyah, Pour Horse, Lady Murasaki and more. In addition to the live
acts on stage, impromptu street performers (buskers)
create a shopping ambiance unique to the Downtown Farmers Market.
"The consistent growth of the region´s local music
scene has enabled us to bring current and fresh, local bands to our
music stage everyseason," said Kristin Beck, Program Coordinator for
Downtown Farmers Market. "I´m especially proud of
this season´s music schedule and I hope that visitors to the Market
discover something new that they may not have seen or heard before."
One of the goals of the Market when it began 20
years ago was to provide a venue to connect local vendors and the
public. While that still is a focus today, other important initiatives,
specifically environmental awareness and consciousness,
have proved successful at the Market.
All music is powered by Creative
Energy Solutions: a local residential and
commercial solar solutions company. "Creative Energies is very happy to
be a sponsor of the 2012 Downtown Farmers Market," said Charlie Boas,
CEO of Creative Energies. "As a local solar energy
installer for homes and businesses with more than 12 years of
experience, we believe that buying locally is the best way support the
economy."
The Downtown Farmers Market is open Saturday
mornings from 8 AM - 1 PM through October 27. The Tuesday evening
Harvest Market begins August 7 and is open from 4 PM to dusk. Both
events are held in Historic Pioneer Park.
