Weber State University Department of the Performing Arts and the Union Station Foundation present Jazz at the Station with vocalist Danielle Vaughn, Wednesday, 13 July 2011, 7:00 pm in the Grand Lobby of Ogden’s Union Station.
If you were to invite songstress Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Billie Holiday, Eva Cassidy and Danielle Vaughn to a tea party in the middle of a deep, dark, enchanted wood, and if you were to slip into Danielle's tea (herbal of course) a blend of Ella's favorite licorice root, Sarah's pure honey, Billie's spice, and top it off with Eva's cream, you'd have one delicious concoction of pure enjoyment to be savored over long discussions of the frivolities of the pursuit of art, the whimsy of the Grand Universe, the beauties of the human spirit, the personal yet vulnerable art of singing the blues, the healing power of juicy yoga, the crazy state of the Union, whether or not run on sentences are a sin, Rumi's poems, and the ecstasy of a good kiss..... And what does Danielle bring to the party, you ask? Deep, dark chocolate from France. Said Cheshire the cat to the Mad Hatter, "I'll have what she's having....... " www.daniellevaughn.com
Jazz at the Station provides an all-ages venue for jazz fans and students. Well behaved children are welcome to attend as long as they do not disturb the performers or members of the audience.
