SUPPORT TWILIGHT CONCERTS—WITH A TEXT DONATION

Salt Lake City, UT: For 24 years the Salt Lake City Arts Council’s Twilight Concert Series has presented free outdoor concerts. Past Twilight shows have brought ground-breaking performances from Sonic Youth to Modest Mouse. This year’s line-up with such artists as The Decemberists, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and Bright Eyes continues to raise the bar on the popular series.

Grants and sponsorships help make the free Thursday night concerts possible. Now, if patrons want to support Salt Lake’s most progressive summer cultural event, they can do it with a simple text donation.

The Mobile Giving Foundation has partnered with the Twilight Concert Series to launch the Support Twilight Concerts program. From any cellular phone, guests can text “TWILIGHT” to 20222 to contribute $5.00. Messaging and data rates may apply.

Twilight Concert Series Director Casey Jarman says, “We’re proud to offer the community these free concerts. If our fans want to ensure that the high caliber of acts continue year after year, here’s their opportunity to show their support. Every dollar helps.”

The Salt Lake City Arts Council is taking the lead locally in initiating this unique mobile giving campaign.

The 2011 Twilight Concert Series kicks off July 14 and runs Thursday evenings through August 25 with Explosions in the Sky, The Decemberists, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, Thurston Moore, Bright Eyes, Ghostland Observatory, Lupe Fiasco and more.

The Twilight concerts are free. Gates open at 5pm and the shows begin at 7pm at Pioneer Park, 350 West 300 South, downtown Salt Lake City. Standing room only in the immediate stage area; no chairs or blankets in the immediate stage area. No alcoholic beverages can be brought into the venue. Beer and wine are available for purchase on-site. No coolers. No smoking. No pets; service animals are welcome.
