Great, but what the heck are you going to buy with a thousand words? That's a rhetorical question, by the way. Video on the other hand, now that's where all the money is - at least in Downtown SLC for the lucky winner of a $5,000 grand prize. The point is simple: contestants are asked to define/interpret/explain the phrase "I Am Downtown" in a short film. The only guidelines are to be creative and unique in telling an unexpected story centered in the downtown area. What's the catch? You only have up to 11 seconds. For some, Salt Lake City is synonymous with sports and for others it's art, music, performances, dining, religous activities, shopping or simply the place they go to work each day. The point is we don't profess to always know what downtown means to you. We invite professional and amateur videoagraphers alike to compete and tell their story for a cash prize offered by the SLC Downtown Alliance. This FREE shuttle allows visitors to downtown to hop on & off this holiday themed ride, circulating between The Gateway, Temple Square, Gallivan Plaza & City Creek Center. The Jingle Bus will be especially useful to connect downtown's two malls for shopping, as well as a great ride for sightseers wanting to enjoy the abundant holiday lights and storefront window decorations. Ballet West - The Nutcracker Nov. 30 - Dec. 29 Ballet West rings in the holidays with the 57th edition of William Christensen's beloved production of The Nutcracker. Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's iconic score sets the scene while breathtaking costume and set design help cary the adience away into a mgical time when toys come to life and children dance among kings and queens. Aerial Arts of Utah Friday Nov. 30,  7:30 PM  Aerial Arts of Utah will make thier main stage debut performance in the production "Flight of Fancy." This whimsical journey through the air features high flying acts of grace and strength on aerial fabrics, trapeze, lyra, and more.
