Summerfest @ Bountiful/Davis Arts: August 8-10

June 21, Farmington - Bountiful/Davis Art Center will host a new exhibit, ‘Conversations in Culture’ that will feature works by artists who live in the US but were born in another country or travels to other cultures are reflected in their work. Works by Featured Artists for Summerfest 2013 will also be on display.  These Summerfest Featured Artists will also have booths at Summerfest, August 8-10, Bountiful City Park.  The exhibit will run June 28-August 30, 2013, at Bountiful/Davis Art Center, 28 East State Street, South Door, 2nd Floor in Farmington.  There will be an opening reception on July 12, 7-9 pm, free to the public. 

The focus of this themed exhibit is the celebration of diverse cultures through the arts.  Some of the artists, though US citizens, were born in another country as noted below.

Summerfest Dates:

August 7: Street Dance/StreetFeast on Main Street in Bountiful 6pm-9pm.  This event features performances by international groups from Lithuania, Chile, Martinique, Taiwan, and Netherlands.  The public will be asked to participate in the dancing.  Additionally, restaurants will be on hand for a StreetFeast. Tickets are $1/each and can be redeemed at any of the food booths who will have offerings from $1 -$6 for various food selections. 

Participating restaurants:  Cutler’s, China Platter, Scoopology, Twisted Lemon, Royal India, Mikado, Bun Basket ‘N Bakery, Touchstone Foods…and more!

August 8: Opening Ceremonies of Summerfest at Bountiful City Park, 6-10pm. 
August 9-10: Festival at the park from 11am-10pm
Host families needed.  BDAC is still taking applications for artist booth vendors.  www.bdac.org.
Summerfest features international performers on the Main Stage, local performers on the Sonic- Sound Stage, artist booths, ethnic food booths, Children’s Art Yard.  This year the major sponsors of the festival are: Bountiful City, Davis County, Lakeview Hospital, and CenturyLink.  Other sponsors include: Zions Bank, Sonic Drive-In, Chevron, Davis Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, Robintino’s, Woods Cross City, Fruit Heights City,  Wells Fargo, Davis County Clipper, Creamies and more.
