Joe Strickland, Chuck Landvatter, Megan Mitchell
Borderline is centered around the ways that we perceive boundaries between public and private worlds, giving viewers a renewed vision of the aesthetics of space. Painter Chuck Landvatter’s portraits expose a private glimpse of everyday people. He combines his background in the schools of tradition and low-brow aerosol to form his unique painting style. Megan Mitchell makes ceramic objects based on forms from architecture and furniture. The imagery on the pieces references both landscapes and domestic spaces, serving as a metaphor for the interactions and boundaries between inner and outer worlds. Joe Strickland uses photography to explore the unappreciated beauty of seemingly mundane private spaces.
