Weber State University Department of the Performing Arts Band Program will host a performance and clinic by Marine Band San Diego, 12:30-2:00 PM in the Shepherd Union Ballroom. Marine Band San Diego is an adjunct of the famous Washington DC Marine Band, known as “The President’s Own,” and will be on tour in Utah at that time doing a series of concert and clinics in Utah and other states. For over 90 years, Marine Band San Diego has thrilled countless thousands throughout the country with its inspiring renditions of patriotic music, classical literature, Big Band and Top 40 favorites, and, of course, the marches of John Philip Sousa.
Marine Band San Diego will be joined in this performance by the WSU Symphonic Band in an informal concert featuring both bands, and a clinic for interested members of the public, local musicians, and anyone seeking more information on United States Military Bands.
This clinic/performance is free and open to the public.
