For Immediate Release Contact: Eugenie Hero Jaffe 801.599.2040 / eugenie@getbombshell.com Salt Lake City’s Design Community Hosts a Creative Summit— Salt Lake Design Week Runs November 14–18 Visit www.sldesignweek.org Salt Lake City, UT: For a week this fall, creativity will reign downtown, as Salt Lake Design Week, November 14–18, marks the impact of design in Utah. Designers in multiple areas such as graphic, product, fashion, interior and architecture will come together to present a community celebration with studio tours, exhibitions, lectures, workshops, receptions and forums throughout the city. “Everyday, whether people realize it or not, design touches lives,” says Salt Lake Design Week Co-Chairperson Kevin Perry, “With Design Week, we hope to bring design to the forefront, celebrate the power of great design, and to strengthen the design community in Utah.” Major cities from San Francisco to Beijing host Design Weeks. “These events have grown into huge affairs,” adds Molly Mazzolini, Salt Lake Design Week’s Co-Chairperson, “although we planned on starting small here in Salt Lake, we’ve already seen an outpouring of interest from professionals as well as design fans.” Design Week will offer LAB at the Leo, daily hands-on design workshops at The Leonardo science and art museum; a film series at the Salt Lake City Main Library; a lecture series at the Salt Lake Art Center; nightly open studio tours; Pixels of Fury—a Shutterstock design competition; a Design Week lounge at The Leonardo Café and more. Software giant, Adobe has signed on as a presenting sponsor and will offer two in-depth workshops to sharpen users skills on classic and new Adobe applications. The Leonardo will offer half-price museum admission to all Salt Lake Design Week participants.
