Weber State University Department of Performing Arts presents the Weber State Symphony Orchestra in its first concert of the 2011-12 season Sunday, September 25, at 7:30 p.m. in the Austad Auditorium of the Val A. Browning Center for the Performing Arts. Children 8 years and older are welcome to attend.
This concert will feature the string section of the orchestra performing music of Barber, Bridge, Vaughan Williams, Saint-SaĆ«ns, and others. The orchestra will also welcome the Bountiful High School orchestra conducted by WSU graduate Andrea Peterson. The BHS orchestra will perform several selections and the two orchestras will combine for the Hovhaness “Armenian Rhapsody No. 3.”
Tickets for the concert are $6 for adults and $5 for students, seniors and those with military I.D. They can be purchased in advance at Dee Events Center Tickets, 1-800-WSU-TIKS. WSU students who pick up a complementary ticket from the Department of Performing Arts office, room 331 in the Browning Center, will be admitted free. Children 8 and over are welcome to attend. This concert is partially funded by student fees.
