Utah Chamber Artists was awarded the annual Governor’s Mansion Arts Award on Thursday December 1, 2011. Governor Herbert presented the award to Barlow Bradford, Music Director of the 40-voice choir and 35- piece orchestra. The choir performed a twenty-minute program for 135 guests at the Governor’s Mansion after the presentation ceremony where two other Utah artists were recognized – writer Emma Lou Thayne, and artist Edie Roberson.

Bradford was moved by the Governor and First Lady’s recognition. “The choir was honored not only by this important acknowledgement, but we were complimented to sing for such a receptive audience. It is always gratifying to perform for those who are engaged and genuinely interested in our music. It was a meaningful evening of giving and sharing by musicians and listeners.”

Utah Chamber Artists performed earlier this year at Governor Herbert’s inauguration ceremony in the State Capitol building.
