Creative Dance Classes for Ages 3-11 at SUU

AT SUU’S CREATIVE DANCE CLASSES
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 8, 2012

Southern Utah University, Cedar City, Utah: Following on the success of the autumn movement workshop for youngsters, Southern Utah University’s Department of Theatre Arts & Dance offers a second series of workshops created by SUU’s Creative Dance Class. On Saturday, December 8th, pre-school and elementary age children are invited to participate in “Come Dance with SUU” from noon until 4:00pm in the university’s Multi-Purpose Center. The sessions are free and open to youngsters in the community

Under the supervision of Denise Purvis, Assistant Professor of Dance, the workshops have been created for children ages 3 to 11 and are for all levels of dancers. For youngsters ages 3-4, there are workshops at either noon to 12:45pm or 3:00-3:45pm. For dancers ages 5-6, there are sessions at either 1:00-1:45pm or 2:00-2:45pm. For youngsters ages 7-8, there are sessions 1:00-1:45pm or 2:00-2:45pm. The last age group is 9-11, and there are sessions at noon-12:45pm or 3:00-3:45pm.

ABOUT THE COLLEGE
The Southern Utah University College of Performing and Visual Arts is comprised of nationally accredited departments of Art and Design, Music, Theatre Arts and Dance, as well as a graduate program in Arts Administration and the new Shakespeare Studies Center.
