Event: A Fusion of Vietnamese and Western musical Traditions

Come Together: A Fusion of Vietnamese and Western Musical Traditions

WHAT:
The Cultural Center proudly presents the unique blending of traditional Eastern and Western music with this once-in-a-lifetime musical experience. This concert features traditional Vietnamese music by Master Musicians and UNESCO World Heritage awardees Hoang Co Thuy and Nguyen Xuan Yen (both visiting from Viet Nam).  Joining them are local musicians Lac Viet Band, directed by Lan Nguyen, California singers Hoan Oanh & Huong Lan, Dr. Dao Duy Anh of Kentucky, and a western ensemble led by Clive Romney of the award-winning local group Enoch Train.  Join us to experience a once-in-a-lifetime musical event that ties together two diverse worlds.

WHY:
This year, the Cultural Center invites the community at large to join their celebration in a concert called, “Come Together.” The Beatles tune of the same name, with lyrics rewritten to reflect the reasons for the concert, is the theme of the event, and a recording has been made using both Eastern and Western musical instruments.
