Salary: 12.50-16.00/hour DOEJob Description: The Natural History Museum of Utah seeks a passionate and innovative STEM educator to manage and deliver well-regarded K-12 student and teacher programs. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in an Education, Science or related field, experience in developing and teaching formal and/or informal education programs, and strong interpersonal and communication skills. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in learning research, program evaluation, working with diverse audiences and/or project management.
The School Programs Education Program Specialist is responsible for:
• Facilitating on-site and statewide science education programs with K-12 students and teachers.
• Collaborating with School Programs Manager in establishing short and long-term goals for assigned program(s).
• Managing program budget, reporting and participant communications on a timely basis for assigned program(s).
• Leading and assisting with the development, evaluation and refinement of NHMU’s K-12 student and teacher science education programs including curriculum, pedagogy, delivery coordination and supporting materials.
• Collaborating with Museum staff, educators, and researcher scientists, to improve NHMU’s work with K-12 teachers and students.
• Developing and maintaining professional peer contacts with partner organizations and internal staff in order to stay current on educational and scientific information and to pursue collaborative opportunities.
• Delivering extraordinary customer service to all Museum guests and internal staff
