Bountiful/Davis Art Center is Accepting Artist Booth Applications
for Bountiful/Davis Summerfest International
Bountiful/Davis Summerfest International Art and Folk Festival (BDSI) is accepting applications for artists booths for this year’s festival. The festival, August 8-10, will attract over 20,000 people who come to enjoy art, food, dance, music and fun at Bountiful City Park. In its 25st year, BDSI promises to deliver the cultural celebration the community has come to expect.
What sets Bountiful/Davis Summerfest International Art and Folk Festival apart from other festivals is the abundance of quality art booths and a variety of ethnic food booths along with the international performing groups. This makes for a truly international festival that has something to offer for everyone of every age group.
Booth fees are $175.00. If you are an artist or craftsperson you may find an application online at: www.bdac.org. Artists who have exhibited or will exhibit at BDAC in 2013 are eligible for a substantial discount on booth fees. Contact BDAC for more information.

Michael Young: Emerging Artist (Best of Show winner/ BDAC 2013 High School Exhibit – Syracuse High School)
There will be an accompanying exhibit at Bountiful/Davis Art Center featuring Utah artists who have a strong connection to another culture. This exhibit will also include works of art from the featured artists list above. The exhibit is called “Conversations in Culture’. The dates for this exhibit are June 29 –August 30, 2013. The exhibit will be located at Bountiful/Davis Art Center, 28 East State Street, South Door, 2ndFloor – in the Davis County Memorial Courthouse. BDAC will be at this location until the renovation in Bountiful is completed.
Summerfest dates to remember:
August 7: Mayor’s Reception at Bountiful City Hall, 790 South 1st East in Bountiful – 5pm
August 7: Street Dance/StreetFeast on historic Main Street in Bountiful between 1st and 2nd South. This event will feature the performing international groups who will engage the audience in learning one of their folk dances. Local restaurants will serve small plates. Tickets are $1/each. Menu items are 1-5 tickets at the booths. Participating restaurants include: Scoopology, Basket Bun, China Platter, Mikado, Twisted Lemon, Taste of India and more. 7-9pm. Bring a chair.
August 8: Bountiful/Davis Summerfest International Opening Ceremonies at Bountiful City - Park, 200 West, 400 North in Bountiful-6pm. Performances by the international groups , artist booths and food booths will be open.
August 9: Festival at Bountiful City Park – noon – 10pm
August 10: Festival at Bountiful City Park – 11am-10pm- Closing Ceremonies at 9:30pm
The festival features international performances twice daily on the Main Stage and local musicians on the SoundStage. Ethnic food booths/artist and artisan booths will abound in the park in addition to a Traditions Tent (traditional folk demonstrations), bocce ball, and a children’s art yard. Admission is free but donations are encouraged at the gates. Summerfest is a program of Bountiful/Davis Art Center and proceeds go towards funding the arts programs that BDAC offer to the community throughout the year.
