SALT LAKE CITY, UT –
MY TURKEY SANDWICH is back on the menu-

My Turkey Sandwich returns to the Rose Wagner Black Box Theatre February 3rd and 4th. Co-Directors Sarah Donohue and Aaron Wood have created an emotionally charged dance-theatre adaptation of the short story The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman.

Donohue and Wood offer a darkly humorous examination of an isolated woman’s state of reality and the swift changes she makes between sanity and insanity as she restlessly rips through her delicate paper mâché identity. Dancers Laura Blakley, Karin Fenn, Corinne Selena Penka, Natosha Washington, along with actor Gabrielle Gaston represent an 1890’s woman whose diagnosis of hysteria and prescribed rest cure treatment leave her grasping to maintain her ever-dissipating will.

MY TURKEY SANDWICH’s "The Yellow Wallpaper” runs Friday and Saturday, February 3rd and 4th at 7:30 p.m. with a 2:00 p.m. matinee on Saturday. There is a suggested $10 donation at the door. This performance is made possible with support from the Repertory Dance Theatre's LINK Series. All performances take place at the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center in Downtown Salt Lake City.

Location: Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center in Downtown Salt Lake City.

Tickets: Suggested Donation of $10 at the door.

Time: February 3rd and 4th at 7:30 p.m. with a matinee on February 4th at 2:00 p.m.

About the Company
My Turkey Sandwich was established when Sarah Donohue and Aaron Wood united their two very different palatable aesthetics in creating their first duet work, The Numbing Effect. Since then Sarah and Aaron have created multiple works, both as an artistic team and as individual artists. Their fusion of dance with technology and theatre allows My Turkey Sandwich to offer dance not only as an art form, but also as an advocator for social change.

It is the goal of My Turkey Sandwich to consistently challenge audiences to think outside of their realms of normality and social constructs. The works we create investigate past and current social issues, as well as draw upon both the humorous and dramatic elements of life.

It is the intention of My Turkey Sandwich to celebrate the differences and commonalities we share as people. Through dance we hope to entertain, voice concerns for humanity, and stimulate thought. As artists we recognize a responsibility and capacity to effect social change. We also acknowledge our potential to promote positivity and joy.

My Turkey Sandwich stands as a compelling voice for artists, human rights, and the betterment of the world in which we reside.

This concert is presented by RDT's LINK Series, an outreach program offering independent choreographers the opportunity to present their work in performance. RDT provides infrastructure and advisory support for production and marketing, while allowing the choreographer to retain artistic autonomy. LINK is supported in part by the Utah Arts Council, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Salt Lake City Arts Council, and the Salt Lake County Zoo, Arts & Parks Program.
