Southern Utah University, Cedar City, Utah: Extracting from the rich mosaic of music literature, the SUU’s Department of Music choral ensembles present an evening of vocal masterworks in “Choral Collage.” The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, October 22, at The Heritage Center Theater in Cedar City, Utah. General admission adult tickets are $6, $4 for SUU Faculty and Staff, $3 for students and children and SUU students attend free with a valid student ID.
“Choral Collage” will feature performances from SUU’s Music Department vocal ensembles Les Chanson, Concert Choir and OPUS. Under the direction of Jackie Riddle-Jackson, Les Chansons, SUU’s all women’s ensemble, will present works from women’s choral literature, including Laudate Dominum by W.A. Mozart, arranged by Music Department Chair, Keith Bradshaw, with featured special guest artists and SUU alumni, soprano Terri Metcal Petersen and pianist Tereas Redd.
SUU’s largest choral ensemble, Concert Choir, under the direction of Sara Guttenberg, will present a collection of works which include settings of well-known English Madrigals and two settings of Bogoroditse Devo, raduisya by Sergei Rachmaninoff and Arvo Pärt. The University’s featured chamber ensemble, OPUS, under the direction of Keith Bradshaw, will present various choral works including three contrasting settings from the Book of Psalms, and the exciting spiritual, Witness, arranged by Jack Halloran

ABOUT THE COLLEGE
The Southern Utah University College of Performing and Visual Arts is comprised of nationally accredited departments of Art and Design, Music, Theatre Arts and Dance, as well as a graduate program in Arts Administration. The College offers 16 different degree areas, including liberal arts Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees; professional Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Fine Arts in art and theatre degrees; and a Master of Fine Arts in Arts Administration degree. More than 60 full- and part-time faculty and staff are engaged in teaching and mentoring over 550 majors in the College. Over 1100 students enroll each year in over 195 arts classes on the SUU campus. The College presents 100 performances, lectures, presentations, and exhibitions each year.
