Salt Lake County ZAP Tier I and Zoological Application Deadline May 18th
The application deadline for Tier I and Zoological organizations is Friday, May 18, 2012. Electronic copies of the applications and the application guide can be found on the ZAP website at www.zap.slco.org. For more information please call 385-468-7057.
Applicants must be a non-profit organizations with federal IRS 501(c)(3) status. ZAP Tier I funding is awarded to organizations with three years of annually operating expenditures over $319,900. Zoological organizations must be accredited with the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA).
Tier I and Zoological Application Workshops will be offered to assist in understanding and completing the application. The application workshop will be held Wednesday, April 25 at 9:00 a.m. The qualifying expenditure workshop will be held on Wednesday, April 25 at 10:00 a.m. both in room N2003 of the Salt Lake County Government Center at 2001 South State Street. Parking is available in the covered parking terrace east of the North Building. Workshops last approximately one hour.
For the past decade, Salt Lake County has collected one additional penny on every ten dollars spent within Salt Lake County for the Zoo, Arts and Parks Program. Funding is available to qualified arts and cultural organizations to provide and enhance their programs. Funding is allocated through a competitive process, overseen by volunteer advisory boards. Final funding recommendations are approved by the Salt Lake County Council.
