Weber State University Department of Performing Arts presents the Weber
State Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Dr. Michael A. Palumbo, in its
second concert of the 2012-13 season Sunday, November 11, at 7:30 p.m.
in the Austad Auditorium of the Val A. Browning Center for the
Performing Arts.
Repertoire for the concert includes the Academic Festival Overture by
Brahms, Beethoven´s Symphony No. 5 in c minor, Handel´s aria "Ombra mai
fu" (Never was the Shade), in an arrangement for strings and harp by
Arthur Luck, and the Sinfonia for Winds by Donizetti, which will be
performed by wind players from the orchestra´s wind section.
Tickets for the concert are $7 for adults and $6 for students, seniors
and those with military I.D. They can be purchased in advance at Dee
Events Center Tickets locations, by calling 1-800-626-7000, or on-line
at weberstatetickets.com. WSU students who pick up a complementary
ticket from the Department of Performing Arts office, room 331 in the
Browning Center, will be admitted free. Children 8 and over are welcome
to attend. This concert is partially funded by student fees.
