SUU’s ART INSIGHTS HOSTS WORLD-FAMOUS ARTIST,
ILLUSTRATOR AND THEME PARK DESIGNER TODD WHITE
SEPTEMBER 12, 2013

Southern Utah University, Cedar City, Utah: Todd White's distinctive style has earned international acclaim in fields such as television animation, illustration, theme park design, commercial packaging, and fine art. He will present at SUU’s Department of Art & Design’s weekly series, Art Insights, on Thursday, September 12, 2013. White’s presentation will be held in Section JK of SUU’s Centrum Arena, at 7pm. Admission is free and the general public is invited to attend.
Todd White’s success is apparent from his selection as the Official Artist of the 49th Annual GRAMMY® Awards, his 2009 invitation from Warner Bros. to contribute to the 70th Anniversary Celebration of The Wizard of Oz, and his 2010 partnership with Coca-Cola to produce collectible packaging that features his unique signature—the first time Coca-Cola has given such credit to a fine artist. His theme park and unique experience design and rendering credits include Universal Studios Islands of Adventure in Orlando, Sony’s Music Box in Berlin, The Mediterranean Sea Park in Italy, Disneyland’s 50th Anniversary Parade in Anaheim, and the Harry Potter Experience touring exhibit.
Recently, White’s record-breaking exhibitions in the United Kingdom have been followed with even greater domestic acclaim, making him one of the world’s most collectable and successful living artists. White is a compulsive observer of detail, studying and absorbing figures, faces, and features to record ideas for his next work—paintings captivate, invoke laughter, and demand repeated viewings.
Art Insights is a weekly program hosted during the fall and spring semesters by SUU’s Art and Design faculty. Students and community members meet to experience presentations and discussions by visiting artists and art educators from around the nation who share their work and insights and attend gallery openings. Admission is free, and the general public is invited to attend.
This is a singular opportunity for southern Utah artists and community members to learn from a major artist that has achieved success in a wide variety of fields.
