RECORD CROWDS EXPECTED DOWNTOWN FOR NUMEROUS EVENTS
Exciting weekend of concerts, festivals, sporting event, conventions & more require planning ahead for transportation.
Salt Lake City (September 3, 2013) – Visitors to downtown are reminded to plan ahead and prepare for potentially high traffic and parking demand during a weekend which highlights several marquee events happening in and around the downtown area.
Public transit, such as TRAX, FrontRunner and GREENBike is recommended for travel to and within downtown. Ticket holders for the University of Utah and Weber State football game can use all UTA services (except Paratransit) free of charge. Other system users are encouraged to use group tickets for UTA, who is expanding the number of trains as well as increasing frequency at targeted times.
Those who choose to drive are urged to carpool. Downtown has 30,000 parking spots, all of which can be researched beforehand on ParkingSLC.com.
