Southern Utah
University, Cedar City, Utah: There is sizzle in Cedar City this autumn sparked by the color,
the swirl of dazzling costumes and the sounds of irresistible music when SUU´s Ballroom Dance Company presents its
Autumn
Concert. Scheduled for Friday
and Saturday, November 22 and 23 2013,
in Cedar City´s Heritage Center Theater,
the performance begins at 7:30pm and
tickets are $10 for general public and
$6 for SUU students.
Featuring over 50 members of the Company´s Touring, Intermediate
and Beginning Performance Ensembles, the Autumn Concert features the dancers
performing such classics as the Waltz, Mambo, Paso Doble, Night Club Two
Step, Foxtrot, Tango, Quickstep, Samba and more. These dynamic dances are
backed by such music ranging from
jazzy Harry Connick Jr. and orchestral Michael Giacchino to the swinging Big
Bad Voodoo Daddy and Latin rhythms of Kat DeLuna. The program spotlights the work of
choreographers Andrea
Johnson, Jessica Alejandro, Melissa Jewkes, Chandler Hall, Dustin Liechty,
Ariel Peterson, Cory Rivers and Jordan Spidle. The Autumn Concert will dazzle audiences
with its pulsating energy and spectacle - and is not to be missed.
The Southern Utah University Ballroom Dance Company is
one of SUU's outstanding performing groups. The SUU Ballroom Dance Company puts
on several campus and community events annually including Fall showcase, Spring
showcase, and Dancing with
the Stars. In addition the company reaches out to the surrounding
community frequently doing performances for local organizations. This energetic
group will keep you tapping your feet as you are entertained by wonderful
music, beautiful costumes, and amazing formation ballroom dancing.

ABOUT THE COLLEGE
The Southern Utah University College of Performing and Visual Arts is comprised of nationally accredited departments of Art and Design, Music, Theatre Arts and Dance, as well as a graduate program in Arts Administration and Center for Shakespeare Studies. The College offers 16 different degree areas, including liberal arts Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees; professional Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Fine Arts in art and theatre degrees; and a Master of Fine Arts in Arts Administration degree. More than 60 full- and part-time faculty and staff are engaged in teaching and mentoring over 550 majors in the College.
