Call For Artists

Annual Gala
Submissions Due: NOV 8, 2013
Submissions Due: NOV 8, 2013
The Annual Gala is the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art’s largest and most extraordinary fundraising event of the year. The Gala makes many of our exhibitions, educational purposes and programs possible.
UMOCA is currently seeking submissions for the newly formatted 12×12 silent art auction. The Art Auction is an effective place to get exposure among Utah’s art collectors. This year the works will receive additional visibility through an official UMOCA exhibition with a reception and an opening date of May 16, 2014.
Submit your name and website + work sample to chrissy.upton@utahmoca.org.
Projects Gallery

Submissions: Open DEC 1, Close DEC 31, 2013
The Projects Gallery, formerly known as the Locals Only Gallery, is another manifestation of UMOCA’s commitment to the local art community, ensuring that local artists have a presence here at all times. The name has changed, but the mission has remained the same: to provide a space for local artists in which to share their work with the community. Only artists working in Utah are invited to propose an exhibition for the Projects Gallery, which may range from site-specific installations to artist-curated shows.
All proposals will be considered for the entirety of 2014’s exhibition schedule in the Projects Gallery.

Submissions: Open DEC 1, Close DEC 31, 2013
The UMOCA Artist-in-Residence Program is the only long-term artist residency designed specifically to meet the needs of artists living in Utah. Utah artists will be selected primarily based on demonstrated artistic potential, commitment to working in a contemporary idiom, willingness to participate in a robust and intellectually-engaged community of artists, and readiness to devote the time necessary to advance their professional careers to the next level.
UMOCA residents will receive a wide variety of benefits from the museum, including one year of free studio space inside the museum itself. UMOCA will also provide residents with private meetings with national curators, critics, and other art world professionals who will be brought to UMOCA specifically to give our residents opportunities for higher visibility inside and outside the state.
