SALT LAKE CITY, UT – Repertory Dance Theatre's "Ring Around the Rose" program presents the Hatch Academy of Magic & Music on December 14, 2013 at 11:00 am.

The Hatch Academy of Magic & Music returns to the Ring Around the Rose series for the second time after an extremely well-received performance last season. The Hatch Academy will present an enchanting morning full of magical charms and musical feats. This unique, family ensemble performance features the deceptionist, Richard Hatch, his wife, violinist Rosemary Kimura Hatch, and their son, pianist Jonathan Hatch. The trio will combine music by Bartok, Kreisler and Saint-Saens with magic by Vernon, Robert-Houdin and Punx.

One of pieces they will be performing is the original story by Richard Hatch, "Taro-san the Fisherman and the Weeping Willow Tree." Using bamboo sticks manipulated into figures, Hatch tells the story of the struggles and triumphs of a young fisherman. The enchanting story is accompanied by beautiful violin music from his wife, Rosemary. This charming story was published in 2012 with beautiful illustrations by AndrĂ¡s Balogh. Hatch will be signing and selling copies of this book after the show.

"We are delighted to be making an encore performance as part of this season's "Ring Around the Rose" series," says Hatch. "We will be premiering some new pieces and including some favorites from last year."

The combination of music and magic is sure to delight both children and adults alike. Participation and interaction will be encouraged throughout the show. Join us for an enchanting performance unlike any other. For more information about the Hatch Academy of Magic & Music visit: www.hatchacademy.com
