Public Art Opportunity at Dixie State College
Call For Artist Qualifications Now Being Accepted

SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Division of Arts & Museums’ Public Art Program, in partnership with the Division of Facilities and Construction Management and Dixie State College, announce a call for letters of interest and qualifications from artists or artist teams interested in creating site specific public art for the new Jeffrey R. Holland Centennial Commons Building on the campus of Dixie State College in St. George, Utah.

The deadline for receipt of applications or online submissions from interested artists is November 4, 2010 at 5 p.m. MST.

The Art Selection Committee for this project envisions artwork that recognizes the rich heritage of Dixie College’s first 100 years, and looks to the future by emphasizing the possibilities of the next 100 years. It is hope the art will help bring a special sensibility of place, not only to the unique design of the building itself, but to the historical, cultural and physical landscape of this southwest corner of Utah.

Interested artists may apply online at www.dccgrants.org or submit materials by mail or delivery to Jim Glenn, 617 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City, UT 84102. A full project description and submission specifics are available at utahpublicart.org or by calling 801-533-3585.
