galleryuaf, housed in the Utah Arts Festival offices, features Works On Paper by Kaye Terry, a collection of mixed media work, September 17 through October 15.
Terry’s exhibit features mixed media works of pastel, acrylic, pencil and ink in a palimpsest concept, or laying images. There is a sense of hidden meanings and layered images. All of the art contains calligraphic "graffiti" to play off of the idea of high/ low in art. Many of the paintings also incorporate the ideas of chance and games of chance, both in life and art.
Kaye Terry has been an owner and partner in Canyon Gallery Art Consultants, an adjunct professor of art history at Westminster College and the Curator of Education at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts.
Her work has been exhibited at the Grand Palais in Paris, the Mall Galleries in London, the City Hall in Kaling, Taiwan, as well as numerous show in Utah. Terry’s work is also included in many private and corporate collections.
Artists’ reception, in conjunction with the Salt Lake Gallery Stroll, is Friday, September 17 from 6 to 9 p.m.
Regular gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
