Utah 2010 Statewide Annual Competition and Exhibition:
Entries Accepted September 22- 23 for “Mixed Media & Works on Paper”
SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Division of Arts & Museums announces a call for entries open to all Utah artists interested in entering the 2010 Statewide Annual Competition and Exhibition. The theme this year is “Mixed Media & Works on Paper.”
Entries will be accepted on Tuesday, September 21 and Wednesday, September 22, 2009 at the Rio Gallery in the Historic Rio Grande Building, 300 Rio Grande Street (455 W) in Salt Lake City. The hours for delivering artwork to the Rio Gallery are 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 pm. Artists living over 50 miles from Salt Lake City or artists whose works are too large to bring into the Rio Gallery may submit images on CD. CD entries must be submitted to the Utah Division of Arts & Museums – Statewide Annual, 617 East South Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah 84102 no later than September 20, 2010. All Utah artists over 18 years of age may enter the competition. Call for Entry forms are available online at artsandmuseums.utah.gov.
The Statewide Annual Competition and Exhibition is a juried show highlighting some of the best contemporary visual art and artists in Utah. Competitions, such as the Statewide Annual, are also used by the Fine Art Acquisition Committee to make recommendations for additions to the Utah State Fine Art Collection.
This exhibition will be open to the public October 15 through November 24, 2010. Jurors’ awards will be presented at the artist’s reception October 15, 6-9 p.m. at the Rio Gallery.
