Thursday open house to display design resulting from extensive community input

June 12, 2012 – SALT LAKE CITY - The City Library will unveil the initial design renderings of its Glendale Library Branch at a meeting open to the public, Thursday, June 14, from 6-8 pm. The open house will be held at the Sorenson Unity Center, 1383 South 900 West.

“After dozens of community meetings, presentations, and workshops, we are excited to show the residents of the Glendale neighborhood the results of their feedback,” said Patty Steed, Associate Director for the Salt Lake City Public Library. “The neighborhood has invested their time to help us create a library that reflects their needs and aspirations. We are looking forward to their feedback as we move forward on this project.”

The design, created by Architectural Nexus, will display early renderings of how the library’s space will be allocated. The open house will be an opportunity for the public to experience the building’s overall flow, as well as provide a basic look and feel for the library’s exterior design.

The Glendale Library branch will be located at approximately 1400 South and Concord Street, and is slated to open in late spring, 2014.
