Utah State History Announces Grants to Certified Local Governments 
Salt Lake City, UT – Utah State History has awarded over $147,000 in matching grants to 17 Certified Local Governments (CLGs) for the 2013-2014 grant year. CLG grants assist local governments in documenting and preserving historic buildings and archaeological sites.  The grants, which consist of federal and state funds, require a 50/50 match of local funds or donated services.  For more information on the Certified Local Government program, visit http://history.utah.gov
American Fork - $4,000 to hire a professional consultant to complete intensive level survey documentation on approximately five historic buildings in American Fork, to help fund a preservation plan for restoration of the historic Harrington School, and to attend the Utah Preservation Conference.
Brigham City - $1,200 to hire a professional consultant to prepare a National Register nomination for one building in Brigham City, and to help fund a lecture series on the subject of historic preservation and historic buildings.
Farmington – $10,000 to help fund a preservation plan and help pay rehabilitation work on the National Register-listed Haight/Hinman house, to hire a professional consultant to prepare National Register nominations for two buildings in Farmington, to help purchase and install historic markers for contributing buildings within the Farmington Main Street National Historic District, purchase computer equipment for the collection of historic photography and documents, and to attend the Utah Preservation Conference.
Gunnison – $10,000 to continue façade rehabilitation on the National Register-listed Casino Star Theater. 
Helper – $10,000 for rehabilitation work on the National Register-listed building at 8 South and Main, and reprint the booklet A Tour of Historic Helper Main Street.
Kanab – $9,000 for rehabilitation work on the National Register-listed Kanab Library.
Manti – $5,000 for rehabilitation work on the National Register-listed Manti Presbyterian Church.
Midway – $3,550 for rehabilitation work on the National Register-listed Midway Town Hall.
Mt. Pleasant – $10,000 for rehabilitation work on the National Register-listed Wasatch Block Building.
Murray – $10,000 to hire a professional consultant to prepare National Register nominations for the Hillcrest historic district and five-seven other eligible historic buildings.
Ogden – $10,000 for rehabilitation work on the National Register-listed Peery’s Egyptian Theatre, to hire a professional consultant to complete intensive level survey documentation on three historic buildings, to purchase and install two historic markers in the Crossroads of the West Historic District, print a brochure on modern architectural styles and their architects, and to send staff members to a national and a local conference related to historic preservation. 
Park City - $10,000 to hire a professional consultant to modify geographic boundaries of the Park City Main Street Historic District, to prepare National Register nominations for two eligible historic buildings, tohost a Commission Assistance and Mentoring Program (CAMP) historic preservation workshop, and to send staff members to a national and a local conference related to historic preservation. 
Payson – $10,000 to continue rehabilitation work on the National Register-listed Huish Theater.
San Juan County – $10,000 for a rehabilitation plan and rehabilitation work on the National Register listed Five Kiva Pueblo, Westwater Canyon Archeological District.
Sanpete County – $10,000 for rehabilitation work on the National Register-listed Wasatch Block Building.
Spring City – $10,000 to continue rehabilitation work on the National Register-listed Spring City School.
Springville – $7,700 for rehabilitation work on the National Register-listed Clyde Cottage, Rivoli Theater, and Springville Carnegie Library, to hire a preservation intern to complete intensive level survey documentation on approximately 11 non-residential buildings in downtown Springville, to update and expand the Springville Historic Main Street booklet, and to digitize copies of the Springville Daily Herald to be placed online.
