Southern Utah University, Cedar City, Utah: A figurative painter who vividly depicts “unknown realms” in her work is how Alessandra Sulpy describes her body of work. A faculty member of SUU’s Art and Design Department, Sulpy’s unique art is featured in a current exhibition as part of a group show devoted to new artists at the Bountiful/Davis Art Center, now through February 11, 2011. The gallery is located in Bountiful, Utah.
A Visiting Assistant Professor of Art in SUU’s College of Performing and Visual Arts, Alessandra Sulpy graduated Magna Cum Laude from Maryland Institute College of Art with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting and a minor in art history. From Maryland, she enrolled at Indiana University from which she received her Master in Fine Arts degree in painting.

ABOUT THE COLLEGE
The Southern Utah University College of Performing and Visual Arts is comprised of nationally accredited departments of Art and Design, Music, Theatre Arts and Dance, as well as a graduate program in Arts Administration. The College offers 16 different degree areas, including liberal arts Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees; professional Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Fine Arts in art and theatre degrees; and a Master of Fine Arts in Arts Administration degree. More than 60 full- and part-time faculty and staff are engaged in teaching and mentoring over 550 majors in the College.
