Ballet West returns to the Utah Arts Festival

June 23–26

Salt Lake City, UT: Utah’s nationally recognized ballet company, Ballet West, will be featured every evening during the 35th Annual Utah Arts Festival, June 23-26 on Library Square.

Ballet West was last seen at the Utah Arts Festival ten years ago. For the last three years Festival Executive Director Lisa Sewell has been working with Ballet West Artistic Director Adam Sklute to secure Ballet West’s return. Ballet West Executive Director Johann Jacob says, "It has been some time since Ballet West has, officially participated in the Utah Arts Festival, and we are all delighted at this wonderful opportunity to do so this year."

“Ballet West is an important part of Utah’s artistic landscape,” says Sewell, “It’s fitting that the company’s beautiful dancers will again grace our stages during our 35th Anniversary.”

The Festival received additional funding from a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to help make Ballet West’s performances possible.

The company will perform: Fall Into Loving Arms, choreographed by Tom Mattingly; Chaconne – Grand Pas de Deux, choreographed by George Balanchine© The George Balanchine Trust, Don Quixote – Wedding Pas de Deux and Swan Lake Pas de Deux both choreographed by Marius Petipa; The Flames of Paris Pas de Deux, choreographed by Vasily Vainonen.

Ballet West performs daily during the Utah Arts Festival, June 23 –26 at 6:30 pm on the Festival Stage.
