Family Art Night, June 20 at Bountiful/Davis Art Center

Bountiful, Utah, June 10, 2011 - Bountiful/Davis Art Center will be holding its monthly Family Art Night June 20 th from 7:00-8:30pm. The evening’s activities will be all about nature and conservation. Families can make nature bracelets and learn about conservation from members of The Utah Society for Environmental Education (USEE). The art center will also kick-off a conservation art contest for children twelve and younger.

Members of the art center staff are excited about having USEE join the fun. The Utah Society for Environmental Education, a 501 c (3) nonprofit, has been a statewide leader in promoting high quality environmental education in Utah since 1981. USEE aims to encourage environmental literacy by teaching Utahans how to think, not what to think about the environment. To achieve this goal, USEE serves as an umbrella organization and information resource for environmental educators, K-12 teachers, higher education and the Utah community at large. These efforts will help ensure economic, social and environmental sustainability for Utah.

Along with learning about conservation, children can enter the conservation art contest. Viewers will be able to see the results of this contest in an exhibit opening at the Family Art Night held on July 18. Winners and prizes will be announced that evening.
