Job Description: Westminster College seeks a dynamic professional to seek funds from regional and national foundations on behalf of the college. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual with proven written and verbal communication skills. The chosen candidate must also have strategic thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills and the ability to make calls on foundation representatives while also working effectively with Westminster faculty and staff including the president and deans.
Responsibilities Include:
• Developing a thorough understanding of the priorities of the college and writing, or supervising the writing of, thoughtful and compelling proposals.
• Identifying foundations that will fund the college’s priorities and meeting with their representatives to cultivate gifts.
• Raising significant funds from identified foundations by preparing well-organized, compelling and accurate proposals ahead of deadlines.
• Preparing and submitting reports to funders regarding how their funds were spent.
Minimum Qualifications:
A baccalaureate degree and at least four years grant writing experience are required. This individual must possess a demonstrated record of success in grant fundraising. The successful candidate must also demonstrate strategic written and oral communication skills; organizational and interpersonal skills; effective financial and analytical skills; ability to work in a collaborative environment and in partnership with faculty and senior staff. A commitment to the educational benefits of small, private colleges and to the value of the liberal arts is critical.
Preferred Qualifications:
A graduate degree is preferred.
