Capacity Building Grant opportunities
available for Utah arts organizations
Online applications due July 28
The Utah Division of Arts & Museums is now accepting online applications for Nonprofit Arts Organization Capacity Building Grants. These grants provide funding to nonprofit arts organizations for general operating expenses. The purpose of this funding is to build the capacity of new and emerging nonprofit organizations whose primary mission is arts-related. Grants are competitive and the deadline to submit applications is 5 p.m., July 28, 2011.
Capacity Building Grants provide support for organizations either in their first three years of seeking funding from the Division of Arts & Museums or that have no paid staff members. “We are pleased to be able to offer this funding for new and emerging arts organizations, which provide valuable access to the arts in their communities,” said Margaret Hunt, Director of the Utah Division of Arts & Museums.
Capacity Building Grants of up to $2,500 are available and matching funds are required. Applicants are encouraged to go to www.artsandmuseums.utah.gov, click on “Funding” ? “Grants” ? and then the checkbox associated with Nonprofit Arts Organization Capacity Building Grants to download specific grant guidelines and requirements. Review and approval of this grant is determined by the Utah Arts Council Board of Directors and administered by the staff of the Division of Arts & Museums.
For questions or assistance with the application process, please contact Katie Woslager, Grants Manager, at kwoslager@utah.gov or call 801.236.7550.
