Todo Mundo Outdoor Summer Concert
Thursday, August 1 at 7 pm
The Ogden Nature Center’s outdoor summer concerts bring fresh, hand-picked musicians to the most charming outdoor setting around. Join us…. You’ll be glad you did!
Todo Mundo “All the World,” who’s Organic Fire was voted “Best World Music Album” at the 2011 San Diego Music Awards, blends the musical flavors of Rumba, Reggae, Samba, Gypsy, and other South American and Caribbean rhythms into an irresistible groove.  The band is known for their high energy performances, which are led by singer and guitarist Santiago Orozco, a native of Columbia, and vocalist Governor Tiggy, from Jamaica.

• All concerts begin at 7 pm, with gates opening at 6 pm.
• $20 for adults / $12 for children (12 and under)
• Tickets may be purchased online, by phone at 801-621-7595 or in person at the Ogden Nature Center, 966 W. 12th Street, Ogden.
• Seating is general admission on the lawn.  Bring your own low-rise chairs, picnics, beverages and blankets  -- they are all welcome.  The concert will be held rain or shine and tickets are nonrefundable.

Admission: $4 adults / $3 seniors / $2 children (2-12)
Members are free

Wild Wednesday, Crazy and Curious CorvidsWednesday, August 7, 3:45 pm
Join us for a new Wild Wednesday program focused on some of the smartest groups of birds in our world—the corvids.  Listen to a true tale about a special raven and then meet the Ogden Nature Center’s most curious and playful raven, Cronk. Meet in the Visitor Center.

Have you ever wondered what the world looks like to an ant?  Using a microscope you’ll get the chance to find out.  With the help of one our teacher naturalists, you’ll have a close encounter with the nature kind.  Meet in the Visitor Center.
 
Wild Wednesday, Flowering WildlifeWednesday, August 21, 3:45 pm 
Flowering plants are the most widespread and successful organisms on the planet. Join one of our teacher/naturalists on a senses-engaging plant identification walk. Then, take a closer look at the shapes and structures that help us make sense of the great, green world. Meet in the Visitor Center.
 
Wild Wednesday, Owl TalesWednesday, August 28, 3:45 pm
Are owls really wise?  Get the answer to that question and many others as we meet three different owls and decode the mysteries that surround these amazing birds.  Meet in the Visitor Center.
 
FREE R.A.M.P. SUMMER SATURDAYSThe Ogden Nature Center is offering free admission and activities on Saturdays during the summer through August 24. Activities led by a teacher naturalist will be held at 10 am and at 1 pm every Saturday.  Activities will include guided nature walks, live animal presentations, games, creative nature crafts and more.  Just show up and have fun!  Please check in at the Visitor Center front desk.
            
August 3:  Bountiful Butterflies and CaterpillarsDiscover the many butterflies that all the Ogden Nature Center home.  Kids will enjoy a catch-and-release activity and then make a fun caterpillar 
to take home.
August 10: Nature Sun CatchersTransport nature finds into your favorite window space.  This craft is a favorite for all ages!
August 17:  Birding and Nature Walk  Learn how to identify birds while enjoying a short hike using binoculars and kid-friendly field guides.  Kids will make a fun, take-home bird craft.
August 24: Antics!  Learn about ants and how they communicate. Families can create antennae headbands or make cute ant magnets.

SUMMER NATURE CAMPS IN AUGUSTThere are still openings in some of the Ogden Nature Center’s summer camps. Come expand your nature knowledge during the last few weeks of summer! Diggin’ History – ages 9-12August 12th, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm
Campers will spend a day in the life of an archaeologist as they learn how scientists unearth facts and treasures about the lives of those who existed hundreds, thousands or even millions of years ago.
 
Micros and Minis – ages 7-9August 14th, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm
So much of the life around us is very small. Using hand lenses and microscopes, we’ll delve into the world and work of bugs, buds and other miniature beings.
 
OGDEN FARMER’S MARKETSaturday’s, 8 am – 1 pm
The Ogden Nature Center will have a booth at the Ogden Farmer’s Market.  Come learn about the Ogden Nature Center and its many programs.  Get a free owl tattoo!  We will be selling market baskets again this year.
