Utah Arts Alliance Announces an Exhibit of Fine Art:

SEEING ISAIAH
By Lloyd Knowles

August 2nd through August 27th, 2011.
Opening Reception: Friday August 5th, 6 – 9 p.m.

Location: 127 South Main Street, Salt Lake City, Utah
Gallery Hours: Tuesday through Saturday, Noon – 8 p.m.

The Utah Arts Alliance will present an exhibit of original fine art, “Seeing Isaiah”, by Lloyd Knowles.

The exhibit will be on display from August 2nd through August 27th, 2011. The opening reception for the artist will be held Friday August 5th from 6 – 9 p.m., at the Utah Arts Alliance Gallery, 127 S. Main St., Salt Lake City, Utah.

The “Seeing Isaiah” exhibit is based on scriptures from the Book of Isaiah and was undertaken following a three year study of the scriptures by the artist. Book chapters are interpreted visually, often in more than one way.

The mixed media works are visualized as in “the ladder days”; e.g. all images are from the 19th century or later. The artist’s intent is to show the writings in the perspective of the last days that Isaiah most wrote about. The works can best be appreciated by reading the subject chapter during viewing. Images in the exhibit will include, “Isaiah 1 – The Vision of Isaiah”; “Isaiah 3 – Children to be Their Princes”; “Isaiah 23 – The Sea Hath Spoken”; “Isaiah 25 – Praise to the Lord”; “Isaiah 57 – Redemption of the Just”; “Isaiah 38 – Extension of Hezakiah’s Life”; “Isaiah 60 – Arise and Shine”, etc.

Lloyd Knowles is an architect and artist from Utah County and works in many different media including acrylics, oils, watercolors, colored pencils, ink and ceramics.
See Lark Studio on Facebook for additional information.
