Babcock Performing Readers presents
150th Anniversary Pony Express
Written and Directed by Rosemary Fairbourn
“Honey, I’m coming west to join you.” “Mom and dad passed away.” Communication, today’s world fixation, had its Western American roots 150 years ago in the sagas of the Pony Express and the Overland Telegraph. Within 18 months, “the thunder of hoof beats bowed to the lightning of the telegraph.” Poignant excerpts from Mark Twain, Will Rogers, and Bret Harte make a delightful reader’s theatre of this exciting period of history.
