Barlow Bradford and Utah Chamber Artists choir and orchestra will present their annual holiday concert at Libby Gardner Concert Hall on Tuesday December 13th at 7:30 pm. This year's concert, "Carols and Lullabies", is a program designed to add beauty and meaning to the yuletide season with selections ranging from the sweetly intimate “Lullaby to Jesus” to the jubilant “O Come All Ye Faithful”.

The event opens with American composer Daniel Pinkham's "Christmas Cantata" composed in 1957, in part, as a tribute to his admiration for medieval and Renaissance music.  Various "Carols" include Bradford's "God Rest You Merry Gentlemen" and "O Come All Ye Faithful".  Featured "Lullabies" are Bernell Hales's "Lullaby" and Peter Warlock's "Lullaby My Jesus". Local actor Michael Jesse Bennett joins the ensemble in a reading of the Christmas story from Luke with incidental music by Barlow Bradford. Bennett, who has presented his one-man show "An Evening with Charles Dickens’ for 42 years, will also assume the role of Scrooge from Dickens’s "Christmas Carol" set to music from a score Bradford composed in 2003 for the Hales Centre Theatre.
As is customary, the audience is invited to join musicians for an after-concert reception in the Bastian Atrium.

A shuttle will run from Rice-Eccles Stadium to Libby Gardner Concert Hall. Tickets may be purchased by calling Kingtix at 801-581-7100 or by visiting kingsburyhall.org. Prices are discounted for tickets purchased before December 7th.

If purchased before December 7, 2011    Adults - $15         Students - $10
