SUU’S MUSIC MASTERWORKS PRESENTS
HOLIDAY CHORAL CONCERT
DECEMBER, 5 2011 

Southern Utah University, Cedar City, Utah: Hear the warming and nostalgic sounds of the holiday season with SUU’s Music Masterworks Series’ Holiday Choral Concert. A perfect way to share the holiday spirit with family and friends, the concert will perform at Cedar City’s Heritage Center Theatre on Monday, December 5th. The performance will begin at 7:30pm. Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for SUU faculty and Staff and $4 for Student and Youth. SUU students are free with a valid I.D.  

The evening’s program is under the direction of Dr. Kevin L. Baker and offers a variety of selections for the enjoyment of the audience.  Opening with a candlelight processional and finishing with John Rutter’s Gloria, this outstanding performance will use brass, percussion and organ. The night includes classic holiday works like The First Noel and He is Born!, arranged by Dan Forrest, as well as the Caribbean-styled Hallelujah, Christ is Born, arranged by Rosephanye Powell, and many other songs that are perfect for the season.

 ABOUT THE COLLEGE
The Southern Utah University College of Performing and Visual Arts is comprised of nationally accredited departments of Art and Design, Music, Theatre Arts and Dance, as well as a graduate program in Arts Administration. The College offers 16 different degree areas, including liberal arts Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees; professional Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Fine Arts in art and theatre degrees; and a Master of Fine Arts in Arts Administration degree. More than 60 full- and part-time faculty and staff are engaged in teaching and mentoring over 550 majors in the College. Over 1100 students enroll each year in over 195 arts classes on the SUU campus. The College presents 100 performances, lectures, presentations, and exhibitions each year. The College’s affiliate organizations include the Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery, American Folk Ballet, Utah Shakespeare Festival, and the SUU Ballroom Dance Company.
