WHAT:                          Students of the SUU Art and Design program would like to invite all students, faculty, and community members to attend an exhibit of black and white artwork, with “Flashback, an era of black and white.”

“Flashback; An Era of Black & White”
November 17th – December 1st, 2011

Southern Utah University, Cedar City, UT: Students of the SUU Art and Design program would like to invite all students, faculty, and community members to attend an exhibit of black and white artwork, with “Flashback, an era of black and white.” The exhibit will feature student work from Heather Miller, Haley Reeves, Kelsey Freelove, Courtney Jones, Odalis Uribe and Rhonda Fisher.  The students arranging the show are of the Gallery and Museum Practices Class at SUU, taught by Reece Summers, and group mentor Jennifer Feld. (Students involved in the exhibition process: (Heather Miller, Haley Reeves, Kelsey Freelove, Courtney Jones, Odalis Uribe, Gavin Boger and Rhonda Fisher)

The exhibit is entitled, “Flashback, an era of black and white” and will be open to the public on Thursday November 17th through Friday, November 11th in South Hall on the SUU campus. Opening night for the exhibit will be on Thursday November 17th from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Have you ever thought you were born in the wrong time period? Or you just want to know how the old days were? Well come down to the South Hall on November 17th for a black and white art show brought to you by the finest artists that SUU has to offer. There will be the finest of finger foods and all artists will be dressed in classy old school attire. So come check out this blast from the past!”

ABOUT THE COLLEGEThe Southern Utah University College of Performing and Visual Arts is comprised of nationally accredited departments of Art and Design, Music, Theatre Arts and Dance, as well as a graduate program in Arts Administration. The College offers 16 different degree areas, including liberal arts Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees; professional Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Fine Arts in art and theatre degrees; and a Master of Fine Arts in Arts Administration degree. More than 60 full- and part-time faculty and staff are engaged in teaching and mentoring over 550 majors in the College. Over 1100 students enroll each year in over 195 arts classes on the SUU campus. The College presents 100 performances, lectures, presentations, and exhibitions each year. The College’s affiliate organizations include the Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery, American Folk Ballet, Utah Shakespeare Festival, and the SUU Ballroom Dance Company.
