Bountiful/Davis Art Center Launches
Fall Membership Drive – 2011
Bountiful, Utah, November 21, 2011–“Donations and memberships coming in continue to assist Bountiful/Davis Art Center (BDAC) to fulfill its mandate but current economic strains are increasing challenges in continuing programs and operations at the excellent level the public has come to expect. As we launch our 2011 Membership Drive, I hope you will find a way to include BDAC and local artists in your holiday giving this year, whether it is purchasing a membership or buying art in the Holiday Show”, says Emma J. Dugal, Executive Director of Bountiful/Davis Art Center.
BDAC provides several art exhibits throughout the year, art classes for children and adults, Family Art Night each month and the Center’s flagship program: Bountiful/Davis Summerfest International Art and Folk Festival, in August (now in its 24th year). Most of the activities at BDAC and Summerfest are free to the public providing programs and events that stimulate appreciation and enjoyment of the arts.
CenterPoint Legacy Theatre has partnered with BDAC to give 2012 Season tickets to memberships of $500 and up; Robintino’s of Bountiful is providing $20 gift certificates for memberships of $100 and up; and Mike Call of Mike Call Fine Art is creating ‘Nellie Mathis - Patron of the Arts Medallions’ in bronze for memberships of $5000 and up. Nellie Mathis made a large donation to Bountiful/Davis Art Center many years ago that became the seedbed for the center’s endowment fund. This fund has allowed the Center to have a solid financial foundation and the ability to grow.
Although different organization, local municipalities and businesses support BDAC, it relies heavily on individual donations and memberships.
Here is what some of the community leaders say about BDAC:
Bountiful City is a better city because of the valuable contribution given by those who are involved with BDAC.
Mayor Joe Johnson
A community that ignores the value of the arts and fails to support them robs future generations of rights and blessings that should be offered by our free society.
John Cushing, Former Bountiful Mayor
Bountiful/Davis Art Center is the cultural soul of our community.
Haven Barlow
The Summerfest celebration is a regional event that draws people from a lot of places to our area and it does have a significant economic impact on our communities and more importantly, it’s something that enriches our lives.
Mayor Ronald Russell, Centerville
BDAC allows people to experience the arts, whether it is visual, literary or the performing arts, serving people throughout the Wasatch Front and beyond. Financial contributions are greatly needed and deeply appreciated.
BDAC is a 501 (c ) (3) non-profit organization. Donations are tax deductible. For more Information and to receive a brochure with more details about membership and the incentive gifts, contact Emma Dugal: 801 292 0367 or emmadugal@bdac.org.
Purchasing art at the BDAC Holiday Show is another way to support local artists and the programs of Bountiful/Davis Art Center. The exhibit goes through December 23 and features a wide array of art at affordable prices for Holiday giving. The ‘Artistree’ at BDAC features 4”x4” ‘Night Before Christmas themed’ ornaments created by participating artists and for sale for only $10!
Bountiful/Davis Art Center hours for the Holiday Show are Tuesday-Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 2-5 p.m. Don’t miss out on these fun activities at BDAC this Holiday season. There is no admission charge. Please join us for Family Art Night on December 19 @ 7:00pm for hands-on art projects, I Spy activity and refreshments – all free to the public.
