Southern Utah University, Cedar City, Utah: It promises to an unforgettable evening of lively bidding for the opportunity to own some outstanding art and benefit the future Southern Utah Museum of Art. Anne Marie Gardner, Chair of The Friends of the Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery, in conjunction with the gallery, is pleased to announce the 19th Annual Art Auction, on March 2, 2011 at 5:00 p.m., at Rusty’s Ranch House. Tickets to this one-night-only event, which includes dinner, are $40 before February 19 and $45 after February 19. Tickets can be purchased in person at Southern Utah University, South Hall 101B or at Artisans Gallery 94 West Center Street in Cedar City. Tickets may also be purchased by contacting SUU’s College of Performing and Visual Arts at 435-865-8561.
This year’s auction offers a wide spectrum of visually dynamic media including paintings, drawings, prints, photography, ceramics, jewelry and other unique works of art by some of the finest artists in the Southwest. Because of the overwhelming response, the portfolio of art for live and silent bidding will be jury selected in order to showcase the highest quality art. The proceeds of the auction will go towards the Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery, the ongoing support of Southern Utah Museum of Art (SUMA) and the fall 2011 exhibition, Soviet Era Art: 1917-1991, on loan from the Springville Museum of Art.

ABOUT THE COLLEGE
The Southern Utah University College of Performing and Visual Arts is comprised of nationally accredited departments of Art and Design, Music, Theatre Arts and Dance, as well as a graduate program in Arts Administration. The College offers 16 different degree areas, including liberal arts Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees; professional Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Fine Arts in art and theatre degrees; and a Master of Fine Arts in Arts Administration degree. More than 60 full- and part-time faculty and staff are engaged in teaching and mentoring over 550 majors in the College.
