This year, four top students from SUU Class of 2011 have been selected to present their art, thoughts, inspirations and process to their fellow students. These gifted artists are: Gemma Martel Young who specializes in graphic design and illustration, Joe Rawlings whose creates vibrant graphic design, Kiel Whitakker who has distinguished himself as an illustrator, and Debra Johnson who has been selected for her accomplishments in the fields of art history and museum studies.
Art Insights is a weekly program hosted during the fall and spring semesters by SUU’s Art and Design faculty. Students and community members meet weekly to experience presentations and discussions by visiting artists and art educators from around the nation who share their work and insights and attend gallery openings.
