Summer 2011 Internship Opportunities
Utah Museum of Fine Arts
Salt Lake City, UT - The Utah Museum of Fine Arts (UMFA) is looking for enthusiastic college juniors and seniors, graduates, and beginning museum professionals to participate in the Summer 2011 UMFA Internship Program. Applicants will have the opportunity to build their resumes, gain valuable behind-the-scenes experience, and work with professional Museum staff to complete special projects and initiatives.
Available Internships
Five special positions are available for the Summer 2011 UMFA Internship Program. Applicants may apply for the Evening for Educators Internship, Graphic Design Internship, Public Relations Internship, Teacher Resources Collection Internship, and/or Youth Summer Classes Internship.
Application Process
Interested students and graduates may download an internship application online at www.umfa.utah.edu/internships. In addition to submitting an application, potential interns must also submit a resume or C.V., a letter of interest of no more than 500 words, three references, and an academic transcript. All application materials are due Friday, March 11, 2011. Potential interns will then be contacted for interviews.
About the Program
The Summer 2011 UMFA Internship Program will begin during the week of May 16 and will last 12 weeks. Once accepted, each intern will be placed in a specific department and assigned to a museum mentor. Interns will be expected to work an average of six hours per week and will be invited to attend a series of enrichments with various UMFA departments. Internships will be unpaid unless otherwise noted.

The Utah Museum of Fine Arts is located in the Marcia and John Price Museum Building on the University of Utah campus at 410 Campus Center Drive. The UMFA’s mission is to engage visitors in discovering meaningful connections with the artistic expressions of the world’s cultures. Admission is $7 adults, $5 seniors and youth ages 6-18, children 5 and under free, UMFA Members free. Free admission is offered on the first Wednesday and third Saturday of each month thanks to the Salt Lake County Zoo, Arts, and Parks Fund. Museum hours are Tuesday – Friday: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Wednesdays 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.; Weekends, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.; closed Mondays and holidays.
