WHAT: Music-lovers across Utah will listen in anticipation as Music Director Thierry Fischer reveals the Utah Symphony’s 2011-12 season at an announcement reception for the press and specially invited Utah Symphony patrons. Utah Symphony | Utah Opera President and CEO Melia Tourangeau will also present programming for the Utah Symphony’s 2011-12 Entertainment, Lollipops and Family Series.

WHY: Maestro Fischer will unveil plans to carry out a particularly unusual project for an individual music director to undertake in a single season. He will also announce the world premiere of a Utah Symphony commissioned work.
