Hogle Zoo to Host Job Fair

SALT LAKE CITY (Feb. 10) - The wildest jobs in town are up-for-grabs at Utah's Hogle Zoo! The Zoo is preparing for its annual job fair Tuesday, Feb. 15th from 4 - 7 p.m. at the EdZoocation Station on Zoo grounds, and is also accepting applications for seasonal Eco-Explorers.

The fair will have information on jobs ranging from food service to retail and guest service. Jobs are open to applicants 16 years of age and older. Visitors to the job fair will be able to ask questions on open positions, turn in applications and participate in an initial job interview.

"We hold a job fair here at the Zoo every year, and are excited to meet this year's applicants," says Human Resources Assistant Anna Frederickson. "If you want to work at the Zoo, this gives you a good chance since you'll get an interview right at the same time you apply."

Hogle Zoo will also be accepting applications for Eco-Explorers until March 1. As seasonal employees, Eco-Explorers are an integral part of the Zoo's public education and interpretive programs. Those hired will perform programs about wildlife and conservation topics that can include working with animal artifacts and live animals! All applicants for an Eco-Explorer position must be at least 18 years of age, and have at least one year of college.

"Eco-Explorers are passionate about our planet! They are gifted educators that encourage Zoo guests to discover the brilliance of the natural world and how to take action to protect it," Hogle Zoo Visitor Experience Coordinator Rebekah Egbert said.

For more information on the job fair visit www.hoglezoo.org or call Frederickson at 801-584-1785. And, for information regarding an Eco-Explorer position email Egbert at regbert@hoglezoo.org
